Intelligent Modes

Shooting

QuickShot - make a video clip in one tap. Let the Mavic Air take professional shots for you (the drone itself takes 1 minute), after which a 10 second video will be cut in automatic mode, which you can share as quickly as possible. QuickShots helps you capture stunning cinematic footage in one tap.

The Mavic Air inherits 4 standard Smart Shooting modes: Roket / Dronie / Circle / Helix.

Two new modes were also added:

Asteroid

Boomerang

With the DJIGO4 app, creating a video clip using recorded video and listening to your favorite music has never been easier simply. Select one or more videos from which you want to create your clip, select captions, filters and click "Create". The clip will be created automatically in a few seconds.

Flight

ActiveTrack

Now in this In mode, the drone can recognize up to 16 selected objects at the same time (including people, cars and water objects). The c mode focuses the user's attention on the most relevant object of all possible so that the shooting is carried out from the best angle. Thanks to its high accuracy and wide tracking scenario, ActiveTrack mode allows the drone to follow objects clearly, even when they are running, jumping or cycling.

SmartCapture

Mode offers a new and interactive way to control the Mavic Air with your hands. Allows you to take off with simple gestures, move away from the user, get closer, take photos and videos, and complete the flight. Gesture controls have never been more responsive.

TapFly

Allows the user to focus exclusively on shooting. Once you select a mode in the DJI GO4 app, tap on your mobile device where you would like the drone to go and get the best shots yourself. TapFly can be executed in four scenarios: Forward / Backward / Free / Coordinate.

Camera

A high-performance 12MP 4K camera is installed on board the drone using a unique three-axis mechanical suspension (angular oscillation range up to 0.005 °) implemented on a 1 / 2.3 inch CMOS sensor. The camera lens received an angle of view (FOV) of 85 ° with an aperture of f / 2.8. Such a tandem allows you to receive high-quality video material (4K at 30 fps) from the air, recorded at a speed of 100 Mbps.

32MP Spherical Panorama

The unique ability of the Mavic Air allows you to shoot large 180 ° panoramic-spherical images in one tap. 25 vertical and horizontal frames in eight seconds are combined into one 32MP panoramic-spherical image, revealing all the beauty of the world around you.

High-speed video

With support for 1080p recording at 120 fps, you can capture epic footage with Slow-Motion mode, which allows you to see every movement in detail...

HDR Photos

The new HDR mode allows you to easily achieve the right exposure based on lighting conditions within reasonable limits. Overexposed or dark areas in the photo, thanks to the new HDR algorithms, will be automatically processed to obtain the most natural transitions between highlights and shadows.

Motors

The Mavic Air features powerful brushless motors, coupled with ESC FOC (Field Oriented Control) speed governors with sinusoidal drive. This approach allowed not only to raise the maximum horizontal flight speed in the "Sport" mode to 68.4 km / h, but also significantly affect the wind resistance of the drone (according to the specification, it can withstand wind gusts up to 10 m / s).

The drone's rotors, by a strange coincidence, did not receive a folding mechanism, but we already know for sure that the Spark's folding propellers fit the Air without any problems. Due to the fact that the Spark props are slightly smaller, the maximum flight time in practice will be 17 minutes (18 minutes on stock propellers). Speed indicators with such retrofitting will remain unchanged.

Wi-Fi HD

For the implementation of stable video streaming over Wi-Fi at a distance of up to 4 km the developer has equipped the drone (located in the front folding landing legs) with a new adaptive dual-band Wi-Fi system operating at 2.4 / 5.8 GHz, it works both automatically (it selects a frequency free from interference) and in manual mode.

Mavic Air is fully adapted to interface with DJI Goggles.

Power

The Mavic Air is powered by an 11.55V (3S) 2375mAh LiCoO₂ smart battery manufactured made of lithium with a high density, which in general made it possible to significantly affect the maximum flight time, which at the output was up to 21 minutes.

Control

distance up to 27 meters). In addition, you can control the drone using a smartphone / tablet running IOS and Android via the DJIGO4 app (FPV distance is no more than 100 meters in a noise-free area).

Well, the most practical way of control, unleashing the full potential of the drone, is the tandem of the smartphone / tablet control equipment via the DJIGO4 app. For full immersion in first-person flight, a tandem of equipment and goggles DJI Goggles is recommended (FPV distance up to 4 km in a noise-free area).

FlightAutonomy 2.0

Autonomous flight has never been so safe. Thanks to advanced VIO technology working closely with a range of cameras and sensors (7 in total), coupled with a powerful 24-core processor, the Mavic Air can fly with remarkable precision when GPS navigation is not available.

VIO

Visual Inertial Odometry (VIO) - technology allows using inertial sensors to accurately determine the position and acceleration of the drone in space, which allows the autopilot to more accurately calculate its orientation and moving in 3D mode.

3D Mapping

Mavic Air's advanced reading system using data from cameras, sensors and IMUs, re-creating real-time a three-dimensional map of the surrounding world.

Advanced Pilot Assistance System (APAS)

APAS is the result of extensive DJI research into optimal flight path calculations. The APAS assistance system automatically corrects the trajectory of flying around obstacles in the drone's path, thereby freeing the novice user from unnecessary manipulation of the control sticks when the drone moves back and forth.

Each of the listed systems involved in the positioning of the drone operates in the mode of duplication of each other. Therefore, if an error occurs in the operation of one of the modules, then the system will switch to another pair in order to resume the optimal functioning of the entire system.

GEO System

G eospatial E nvironment O nline - the system is designed to inform the pilot about how safe the flight can be at the current launch site. GEO will indicate the presence of No-Fly zones at the launch site. Everything for the sake of safety.
