Introduction
Premium Selfie Drone Developers Hover Camera Passport through Kickstarter announced fundraising for the launch of the serial production of the second version of the portable drone. The Hover 2 is the next generation of autonomous UAVs with an emphasis on aerial photography in the Selfie format. Completely redesigned model inheriting from its predecessor only portable design and exemplary safety. At the heart of a powerful flagship processor and a revolutionary 360-degree obstacle recognition and avoidance system, working on advanced intelligent algorithms. Based on the declared potential of the prototype, which continues to be refined, I am ready to compete with such bestsellers as Skydio, DJI Mavic Air, Parrot Anafi and DJI Spark.
The Hover Camera Passport selfie drone has won Red Dot and iF Design Awards, CES and others.

Camera
Onboard 12MP 4K camera built on 1 / 2.3-inch CMOS sensor with f / 2.2 aperture. and a viewing angle of 78.8 °. For image stabilization, a 2-axis mechanical gimbal works in tandem with electronic image stabilization (EIS). Provide stabilized shooting in the following resolution: 4K at 30 fps; 2.7K at 30/60 fps; 1080P @ 30/60 / 120fps; 720P @ 30/60/120 fps. Available photo shooting modes: Continuous / HDR. All recorded material can be saved on the drone's built-in 8GB storage device, as well as on a microSD card with a capacity of up to 120GB.
The quality of the shooting of the prototype is not the final result and it continues to be refined.
FPV
First person flight for Hover 2 is implemented via Wi-Fi via a tandem consisting of BlastOff control equipment and a smartphone (IOS / Android) via the mobile app. With this type of piloting, the FPV distance is from 2-5 km.
Intelligent Flight Modes
The user has 3 Intelligent Flight Modes:
AutoFrame - select one of the four preset angles: Waist-Up, Full-body, Backdrop and Birds-eye and the drone will automatically take the desired position to get a good shot.
Omni-Follow - Keeps the selected subject in the frame at any angle, giving more freedom of movement and creativity. Unlike traditional subject-following, the Hover 2 can follow the front, back, side, and can also switch between positions while shooting.
TrackShots - Choose from four preset mode options: Surge, Ricochet, Reveal and Orbit for cinematic shooting. Hover 2 focuses on the user and can move around even when the subject is moving.
Cinematic themes
The mobile application provides access to cinematic themes including all kinds of filters and soundtracks. Pick a theme and watch your footage turn into a short clip that you can instantly share with friends via famous social networks.
Optical Radar
Optical Radar Hover 2 is a retractable stereo sensor that provides depth perception in all directions.
Advanced Obstacle Avoidance Algorithms
Combining Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM 3D) mapping) with VIO (Visual Inertial Odometry), and route planning functions, allowed the drone to navigate in new environments by identifying obstacles at 360º, as well as bypassing them while tracking a target in real time.
Intelligent Tracking
The Hover 2 computer vision system is capable of accurately tracking a target, even after significant changes in its appearance and shape. By simulating the outside world and monitoring the surrounding figures, the developer's algorithm allows you to accurately assess the cause of the obstacle and intelligently adjust the tracking strategy.
The video below demonstrates intelligent tracking algorithms in action, demonstrating awareness of the distance and orientation of an object, as well as re-detecting a target after losing it from the system's field of view.
Control
There are two ways to control the drone:
- BlastOff remote control smartphone via the Hover 2 mobile app. The tandem provides confident first-person piloting from 2-5 km.
- Portable Palm Pilot controller - allows you to control the drone with one hand when the use of classic control equipment is not relevant for the user. Has a built-in FPV LCD display for displaying images from the drone's on-board camera in real time. Provides removal distance up to 100 meters.
Sales start and price
Hover 2 Selfie Drone is available for purchase on the developer's official website. Depending on the configuration, prices start at $ 599.As of today, it is not officially supplied to the Russian Federation!
