Motors

the transmission of torque is carried out through a gear. There is enough potential in abundance, it can handle most of the existing action cameras without any problems. The disadvantages include an extremely small resource - about 30 sorties. You should take this into account when buying and immediately buy spare motors.

Camera

The JJRC H8D quadcopter is equipped with a 2MP video camera with a built-in VTX operating at an analog frequency of 5.8GHz. Unlike Wi-Fi video modules, it provides video streaming without delay, thereby ensuring a safe first-person flight. Shooting quality is below average.

Power supply

JJRC H8D is supplied with two battery cells (7.4V) with a capacity of 500mAh. Provides an average flight time of no more than 6 minutes (with the declared 8 minutes), which is generally the norm for this niche of amateur UAVs.

Control panel

The JJRC H8D quadcopter comes with classic equipment operating at a frequency 2.4GHz. For the implementation of flight in FPV mode, it is equipped with a 4'3 LCD monitor with a built-in video receiver operating in the 5.8 GHz frequency range. The monitor is powered by a built-in battery charged from the supplied USB cable. In practice, the tandem provides a removal distance of no more than 100 meters.

The picture quality is below average. In sunny weather, glare, which complicates the process of FPV piloting. Display settings are missing.

Flying in FPV mode at a distance of more than 50 meters is not considered safe for this category of UAVs!

Controls

Flight performance

JJRC The H8D performed well in flight. The Return to Home mode works correctly, but with the direct participation of the pilot. In the test, he showed good performance of flips. Note, good vertical thrust for this drone, which in turn allows you to retrofit a quad with a camera with better shooting quality compared to the one that comes with the kit.

JJRC H8D crashes on signal loss! It should be taken into account when piloting.

Pros

  • Design
  • Flight performance
  • Vertical thrust allows the quad to be retrofitted with Mobius MINI or Firefly Q6 cameras
  • FPV kit
  • Ready to fly out of the box

Cons

  • Price
  • Motors (resource about 30 full departures)
  • The flight range was less than declared (maximum up to 100 meters)
  • The information from the transmitter display is difficult to read in the sun (even with the visor present)

JJRC H8D has recommended ourselves as one of the best quadcopters in its class. Perfect for beginners as their first drone. When retrofitted with a better camera, it will noticeably extend the time for receiving positive emotions.
