Motors
MJX Bugs 8 are brushless motors 1806 with a power of 18 00KV. They work in tandem with 2-blade 155mm main rotor. The body of the motors is made of plastic, which made it possible to reduce weight, increase speed and flight time. In practice, the potential of the power plant is more than enough, the thrust reserve allows you to install an additional GoPro camera on board the drone.
Camera
The developer offers two FPV camera options for this drone: C5820C58308-channel 5.8GHz video transmitteradjustable (manually) tilt angle
The main difference is the C5830 lens. As a result of the modernization, he received 6 optical elements and a viewing angle of 90 °. In practice, in FPV mode, their potential is quite enough.
FPV Monitor
MJX D43 4.3 LCD RX - 4.3 '' Universal LCD FPV Monitor , with manual brightness control. A built-in 32-channel video receiver operating in the 5.8 GHz band is responsible for receiving the video stream from the drone's camera. Powered by a built-in 1-cell lithium-ion battery with a capacity of800mAh. Charge from the included USB cable. Mounts to stock control equipment using the included mount, and also supports pairing with an FPV headset - MJX G3 5.8G FPV Goggles for realizing a full-fledged first-person flight.
FPV Headset
MJX G3 5.8G FPV Goggles - when paired with an FPV monitor, provides full immersion in first person flight
Power
The Bugs 8 is powered by a 2-cell (2S / 7.4V) 1300mAh Li-Polymer battery with peak discharge 25C, XT30 connector and balanced cable. The battery is packed in a kind of plastic box. Provides max. flight time - 12 minutes. In practice, this time generally corresponds to reality, the version with a camera fits into 10-12 minutes.
Without a camera, the flight time increases by an average of 2 minutes.
Control
Control of the drone is implemented using the classic Bugs series of control equipment operating at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. Power is supplied from four AA batteries (purchased separately). Provides a removal distance of up to 500 meters according to the specification.
* Remote control in combination with FPV monitor.
Button Assignments
The Start / Stop button is active when the throttle stick is position "0", otherwise the start will not take place. It is worth considering this!
Price
Available for purchase on all Internet marketplaces at a price of $ 75.
In February 2018, the developer offered the consumer an advanced version - BUGS 8 Pro. The list of distinctive features: 3-blade rotor (red), 2204 1800KV used motors, Angel / Acro flight modes, 3S 1300mAh battery and an updated design of the control equipment. But, despite the advantages of the novelty, the model has received less consumer acceptance over the entire time.
Recommendations and notes
- To extend battery life and reduce charging time, it is recommended to abandon the use of the complete charger
- There are two "Low / High" speed modes available to the user. The default is always High. Even if the last flight was in “Low” mode, after turning off and then turning on the aircraft, the mode will be set to “High” again.
- After the next flight, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that the video mode is stopped, otherwise the recorded video will be damaged.
- Both the drone and the control equipment are equipped with audible alarms to warn the pilot of a low battery level. After it is triggered, the pilot has about 3 minutes to land the drone. Then the motors are turned off.
Conclusion
Pros
- Quality of execution
- Light / Durable
- Racing format 250mm
- Used motors / Flight performance (up to 65km / h)
- Handling
- Modes of activity
- Video stream quality / Bright monitor with adjustable brightness

Cons
- When the throttle stick is in zero position, the motors are running
- SD card slot in an inconvenient place
One of the best racing deals for the novice segment of users. For all the time it has established itself exclusively from the best side. High-quality, lightweight, durable, manageable, dynamic (up to 65 km / h at max. Costs). The quality of the video stream deserves respect, the first-person flight only adds to the pleasure of the dynamic flight. It will show itself as much as possible in the top-end configuration. Beginners will fully appreciate the potential of collector quadrics and FPV over Wi-Fi. Will serve as a good simulator for getting the first experience on S / C motors in the first-person flight mode.
