Announcement
On March 28th at the DJI Enterprise event in Menlo Park, California, DJI and FLIR unveiled a new dual-touch thermal imaging camera - Zenmuse XT2. Thanks to the paired operation of a 4K camera and a FLIR Tau 2 temperature sensor, the XT2 allows you to see the environment from one side in a split screen formatand receive thermal data from the other in real time. The Zenmuse XT2 has been designed for applications such as firefighting, search and rescue, inspection and infrastructure monitoring.
“The arrival of the DJI Zenmuse XT2 with a FLIR sensor signals an important technological advance that will be appreciated by those UAV pilots who need both a visual camera and the advantage of ultra-powerful thermal imaging, ”said FLIR President James Cannon in a press release.
“Now UAV pilots will be able to receive data non-stop, which is an important advantage in search and rescue operations, in remote monitoring of equipment performance, as well as in identifying possible problems in buildings and structures. Partnering with DJI is in line with our mission to promote thermal technology to save lives and livelihoods. ”

Applications and modes
The entire system will run on the DJI Pilot (for Android) and DJI XT Pro (for iOS) apps. The following modes will be added to the list of modes that greatly simplify the pilot's workflow:
- Quick Track - automatically centers the camera on the selected area using pattern recognition technology.
- Heat Track - Automatically points the camera to the strongest heat source.
- Temp Alert - Measures in real time what is in the camera field and triggers an alert when the temperature threshold is exceeded.
