Revolve Thermal MK. III: for those who react first.

About us

Revolve Drones is a new subsidiary of Drone Doctor, a UK recommended and authorized drone repair center from DJI InnovationsMavic 2 Zoom FLIR BosonDJI Mavic 2 Zoom, which, as a result of serious modifications, received a hybrid thermal imaging camera with zoom capability (Flir Boson 320 stock camera DJI Mavic 2 Zoom). Compared to the drone Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual (hereinafter referred to as M2ED), the overall result of the improvements significantly improved the quality of the thermal image at a higher resolution.

Project MK. III was launched after the disappointing performance of the Lepton thermal matrix used in the M2ED.

Features

The technical features below apply only to the thermal imaging camera. The drone and visual camera features are identical to the standard specifications of the Mavic 2 Zoom

  • Camera: Flir Boson 320 with 6.3mm lens
  • Sensor: uncooled VOx microbolometer
  • Spectral range: far infrared; 7.5 - 13.5 μm
  • Pixel pitch: 12 μm
  • Thermal sensitivity:

The MK. III offers extremely high quality thermal imaging at a price slightly higher than the standard M2ED. In comparison, the cost of the ready-made kit is about a third of the cost of a commercial DJI M210 drone in the lower resolution version of the XT2.

The Revolve Thermal MK. III aims to bridge the gap between the low-end and high-end market by delivering high-quality thermal imaging to organizations that previously could not afford expensive technology.

By partnering with dealers and repair centers in Iowa, USA and New South Wales (Australia), Revolve Drones will be able to sell and support Thermal MK. III around the world.

    Interesting Details

    • Flir Boson is the world's only third-party camera integrated with the DJI Mavic handheld drone.
    • To stabilize the powerful matrix hybrid of the Boson 320 thermal camera and the standard Mavic 2 Zoom 2x optical zoom camera, the gimbal components were custom made from 6061
    • Thermal video streaming is transmitted through the Mavic's factory systems, so no additional displays, batteries, or other equipment are required.
    • Choosing between color palette and Gain settings is instantaneous and completed with the press of a button, allowing users to select the correct camera settings for the current situation at unprecedented speed.
    • The protruding body at the top of the drone includes video processing chips.

    Touchscreen

Revolve Thermal MK. III camera systems are controlled by a small module that simply plugs into the USB port of the control panel. A small status display and buttons provide direct control of the thermal and visual cameras, as well as control of the LED status. Physical controls allow extremely fast and intuitive use of a thermal camera without having to navigate cumbersome menus, ensuring that all users can get the most out of their camera system. Plus, most flying can be done with gloves, which is an important feature when used in search and rescue operations.

    Covert operation

All Revolve Thermal MK. III side lights can be turned off with one button press. This feature, combined with optical zoom and long-range thermal imaging cameras, allows you to keep the drone out of sight while still being able to hear passers-by. This allows for covert surveillance, which is not possible with larger drone models or models with lower quality matrices.

    Application

Combined with the MK. III 2x optical zoom visible light camera, it allows you to search a specified area much faster than other options with low-quality thermomatrixes. It will best recommend itself in firefighting, law enforcement, search and rescue missions.
