Eachine Racer 250 Pro: A modified monster.

Introduction

Eachine - over the entire period of its existence on the unmanned market, it has offered the consumer a huge number of drones, some of which the company can be really proud of, but about some better not to remember. Eachine Racer 250 - is one of the first drones built on used motors, which at one time received recognition from both experts and amateurs. And who would have thought that the manufacturer will return to the popular model in almost two years, where, after significant improvements, the drone will again be ready to surprise its fans. We are glad to present you an old, but at the same time completely new drone - Eachine Racer 250 Pro.

The materials of execution remained unchanged, almost all the electronic filling underwent modernization, and the drone also received a more symmetrical X-shaped frame.

Motors

Eachine Racer 250 Pro, unlike its predecessor, is equipped with more powerful 2205 motors, 2300KV. Visually, the Pro motors are very similar to the Eachine Racer 180. Despite the ER250 Pro's weight of 473 grams, they provide exponential dynamics that everyone will notice without exaggeration.

Camera

The Racer 250 Pro is equipped with a classic 1000TVL CCD FPV camera that works with both NTSC and PAL systems (default). The Pro now has a variable tilt angle of up to 25 °. It has proven itself in practice, even when flying at night.

The fact that the camera has a variable angle is very good, but now when you move it to the extreme upper position, a part of the front panel of the drone is included in the frame. We'll have to "farm" to get rid of such a minus.

CCD sensor (Charged Coupled Device) - converts the charges of pixels into an analog signal. These cameras have lower noise levels and higher sensitivity, and they can easily cope with interference, which as a result significantly affects the picture quality.

Power supply

Eachine Racer 250 Pro is equipped with a 1199mAh Lithium Polymer 4-cell battery with discharge current 30C and XT60 connector. The same Eachine Racer 180 is equipped with a similar battery. According to the specification, it provides a flight time of 8-10 minutes. In practice, this time was 5-6 minutes.

Controls

The RTF package with the Eachine Racer 250 Pro comes with the classic 6-channel equipment FlySky i6 performed under the Eachine brand. It runs on the fail-safe AFHDS-2A protocol, which is good news in itself. Allows you to easily move to a distance of more than 400 meters.

It is worth noting that the quad reaches the owner with an outdated version of the CleanFlight firmware (1.13). As a result, the latest CF - Configurator firmware cannot even open the settings. In this case, it is highly recommended to install Betaflight. With it, the drone behaves much better, it is more stable, the flight is smooth without vibrations.

Price

Eachine Racer 250 Pro is sold on various Internet trading platforms. Depending on the configuration, the drone can be purchased:

  1. PNP version - $ 129.99
  2. RTF version - $ 219.99

Pluses

  • Powerful
  • Stable
  • Relatively quiet
  • Lighter than its predecessor
  • Flight controller SPF3
  • 20A ESC BLheli_S / Dshot 600
  • Flight duration (over 5 minutes)
  • Strong front light
  • Good camera in 1000TVL
  • Strong FPV / OSD signal / Buzzer

Cons

  • Poor and weak VTX connector location
  • Fragile rear of the drone
  • Jelly in FPV mode
  • Aircraft front panel limits field of view at 25 ° camera angle
  • Outdated CleanFlight firmware

Practical ER250 Pro for good Has proven itself to be a great drone, provided Betaflight firmware is installed. Fast and stable acro-quad with good flight times. FPV performance coupled with a powerful VTX and built-in OSD module also deserve special respect. The main disadvantages include the rear of the drone, it is not protected by anything and is likely to be more likely to break in the event of serious crashes. As in the case of the VTX RP-SMA, in case of an accident, this connector will be torn off by the antenna itself, which will subsequently lead to the fact that the VTX will simply burn out due to the lack of a 50 Ohm load. This disadvantage is primarily the design cost. In general, the developer can be proud of the modified Racer 250 Pro, the drone is worth the money spent and, without exaggeration, is capable of giving extremely positive emotions from use. Age limit 14.
