Q. Where can I find the Wi-Fi name and password for the Mavic Air?

A. For security reasons, each Mavic Air, like any other device that supports Wi-Fi, has a unique username and password. You can find them on one side of the Air itself, in the battery compartment, and on the shipping case (iOS requires v9.0 or higher).

To connect your smartphone to the Mavic Air for the first time, simply scan the QR code (same as the name and password) in the DJIGO4 app. It is also possible to enter the username and password manually.

A. The capture distance in SmartCapture mode is 2.5-6 meters.

Q. What panorama modes does the Mavic Air support?

A. The drone supports 4 modes:

  1. Vertical: The camera automatically takes three vertical photos, which are subsequently stitched into one panoramic photo.
  2. Horizontal: The camera shoots nine photos from different angles, stitching them into one panoramic photo.
  3. 180 °: the drone automatically rotates around its axis, while the camera takes 21 images, in DJIGO 4 they are stitched into one 180 ° panoramic photo.
  4. Sphere: The Mavic Air automatically rotates around its axis while the camera takes 25 photos stitching them together into one spherical panoramic photo.

Q. Why, in SmartCapture mode, when the drone is flying near the user, it is limited to the height at eye level?

A. In SmartCapture mode, the aircraft is positioned at eye level when it is 3 meters away from the user. This approach ensures greater flight safety and control accuracy. Outside the three-meter safety boundary, the user can use gestures to raise the drone both above and below eye level.

A. No. As it will crash the whole update process. After that, the user will have to download the firmware and repeat the update process again.

Q. Why does DJIGO 4 inform the user before the drone restarts that it needs to reconnect to the drone via Wi-Fi to complete the update?

A. The aircraft will need to be restarted to complete the update process. Then repeat the Wi-Fi pairing process again. The DJIGO 4 app simply reminds the user what to do to complete the update process completely.

FPV

Q. How far can the Mavic Air travel in FPV mode?

A. When connected to control equipment:

  • For 2.4GHz: FCC: 4000m, CE: 2000m, SRRC: 2000m (free from interference to the area).
  • For 5.8GHz: FCC: 4000m, CE: 500m, SRRC: 2500m (in interference free area).

When connected to a mobile device:

  • The maximum height is 50 meters.
  • The maximum distance is 80 meters.

Q. What resolution is the video broadcast?

O. 720p @ 30fps.

Q. What is the video latency of the Mavic Air?

A. When run under optimal conditions, the video latency is between 170 and 240ms. It also depends on the performance of the smartphone used.

Q. Is it possible to manually adjust the video transmission frequency range?

A. By default, DJIGO 4 automatically selects the frequency range. But the user can manually select between the 2.4GHz / 5.8GHz bands, as well as select the most free channel. At the same time, it should be noted that restrictions are imposed on the 5.8 GHz frequency range (depending on the transmitter power) in a number of countries. For example, in Russia, Mavic Air flies exclusively at 2.4GHz, without the official possibility of manually switching to 5.8GHz, with all the flight characteristics that follow from this.
